Polylactic acid (PLA) is one of the common materials that are fully biodegradable and environmentally friendly. Polylactic acid (PLA) microspheres have good biocompatibility and biodegradability.

In practical applications, the advantages of medical biodegradable microspheres are quite evident. Taking their use in the field of medical aesthetics as an example, PLA microspheres can be used as injectable fillers to increase skin fullness, improve wrinkles, and alleviate skin laxity. Due to the superior biodegradability of PLA microsphere fillers, they can gradually decompose and be metabolized, not causing lasting effects on the skin. Moreover, through various modification techniques, different properties can be imparted to PLA microsphere fillers, such as varying degradation periods.

Additionally, biodegradable microspheres are also quite popular in drug delivery and tissue engineering applications. For example, degradable drug-loaded microspheres gradually decompose after entering the body, allowing the drug to be released slowly at a certain rate. This maintains the concentration of the drug in the blood at the site of the lesion, thereby extending the drug’s half-life and achieving long-term sustained release. For patients, this can significantly reduce the frequency of administration and improve compliance.

Biodegradable microspheres are a global industrial hotspot, offering significant advantages in clinical and various related fields. The future development prospects are very broad. eSUNMED welcomes research institutions or enterprises with needs to contact us for product customization or new application development!
